Being Crafty

I love custom orders. I was asked to create a cell phone purse for a customer.  I didn't have a pattern so I just threw together this cute purse. I added a pocket on the outside with a cute button as an accent, inside a credit card pocket and an magnetic closer.  The handles  are long and tied at the end so they can be adjusted.  I'm very pleased at the way it came out.

On my bucket list is to design fabrics and patterns.   One day......

Sewing for Baby!

Hello one and all!  I am still trying to get this blogging thing down so bear with me. Recently it seems that we have a lot of friends having babies so I started making a lot of baby items. I recently went to our quilt guild retreat and instead of quilting I decided to create lots of little things. It is such a joy to give the new mother something handmade and usefull. The attached pictures are some of the items I created and the gift baskets that I made using these items. They have been such a hit that I decided to make some and sell them on my Etsy website: http://www.etsy.com/shop/sellabrations, if you don't see something you like let me know because I love to do custom orders.  I hope you enjoy the pictures.

Sew Little Time

Do you ever wonder why time flies when you are doing something you enjoy....like sewing??? I realized recently that when I am in my creative mood and things are racing thru my brain that time flies by so quickly. I love creating things!!!! On another note: I entered my first quilt in our local quilt show and won 3rd place in the miniature division. It was a new experience and I was so excited to see a ribbon next to my quilt. I can't wait to create my next masterpiece :). I hope each of your will take the time to do something you enjoy!

Random

Howdy I am here in Aggieland working on a few projects and have decided that my love of sewing can consume me. I just want to stay home all day and sew :). My newest project is a purse from torn fabric strips. I first saw it in Quilts and more magazine and just fell in love with it. I love the black and white fabric and the simple way it was put together. It does take a little time but the end product was worth it.

Go to my website at http://www.etsy.com/shop/sellabrations, to check it out and find some of my other items for sell. I am currently sewing a hooded bath towel for a friend's baby. If you don't see something you like on etsy just let me know. I love making unique and 1 of kind items.

Love to Sew

Sewing and why I love it. I have been sewing since I was 5 years old. My Grandmother, Mary Belle Spence Fowler, was my inspiration for this life long love. I have always loved creating things and when I found out I was pregnant with my first daughter I found that no one made maternity clothes for tall women. All the smocks back in the 80's were short and never seemed to fit me right so I decided to fix all that and began to sew my own clothes. I love sewing and making gifts for my friends, co-workers and family. I hope to add some easy craft ideas and share some of my own creations with you as my website evolves.
